Welcome New Faculty: Ms. Annika Voorheis

Riverdale Review: What brought you to Riverdale? What and where was your previous job?

Ms. Annika Voorheis: Actually, Ms. S., the other dance teacher here, used to be my dance teacher. So I saw her posting this job, and I was like, woah. I was looking for other dance teacher positions in the city, and it just sort of was destiny. So that specifically is how [I got] to Riverdale... My previous job was working at a dance studio at home, where I’m from, at home in Massachusetts. But I just graduated college in May, so I didn’t necessarily have a full-time previous job.

RR: If you could pick a subject to teach that is different from the one you teach now, what would it be and why?

AV: Hmm, I would love to teach one of the computer science courses or an upper-level math course. My other major in college was information science, so I’m super interested in math and computer science. It’s like my other love of life, other than dance.
