Sophie Brion Neely - Middle School History Fellow
Riverdale Review: “Where did you work previously?”
Sophie Brion Neely: “I’m a writer. I worked in theater, I’m a playwright, and I also worked at a few different educational organizations doing policy research and running programs. Most are historical plays, which is why I am a history teacher.”
RR: “What is your favorite thing about the fall season?”
SBN: “In California, fall is the worst season for most people because it’s really hot, it’s windy, it’s fire season. But here fall is so beautiful, so what I appreciate is the way it both looks and feels cozy in a multi-sensory kind of way.”
RR: “Do you have any hobbies, interests, or talents that you would like to share with the Riverdale community?”
SBN: “I really enjoyed trying to learn a little bit of a new language. I speak French, which is my second language. I also speak some Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.”
