Staff Writer
The holiday season is a time for tradition, family, and, of course, great movies. From annual favorites to childhood classics, holiday movies encapsulate the joy and spirit of the holiday season. This year, Riverdale Review writers were asked in a survey what their favorite holiday movies are. In the survey, Home Alone received nearly 50% of the vote as Riverdale Reviewís favorite holiday movie!
MY REVIEW:
Home Alone, released in 1990, is a holiday classic that combines childhood humor with suspenseful moments. This movie follows Kevin McCallister, a young child who is accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation for Christmas. Throughout the movie, Kevin uses his wit and trickery to outsmart two burglars with clever booby traps, creating memorable comedic moments. Through this combination of action and comedy, the movie makes for a great Winter Break watch. In my opinion, this is a great movie for young viewers and it offers a heartwarming story that everyone needs during the holiday season. While some aspects of the movie are a bit overexaggerated, the action and comedy are still commendable. Despite its far-fetched nature, Home Alone is full of holiday spirit making it a timeless film to watch!
