Welcome New Faculty: Smith
Riverdale Review: What brought you to Riverdale? What and where was your previous job?
Smith: I saw the LRT position posted on Riverdale’s website and felt that it would be a dream to work at Riverdale. Before I arrived at Riverdale, I had taught fifth grade through twelfth in and around NYC, New Jersey, St. Louis, and India--English, Latin, Learning Support, Humanities, Philosophy, Ancient Greek, and even a PE class: “Dog Walking for Fitness.” I brought my dog, Milo, to school twice a week, and my students took turns walking him around the park and learning about the importance of cleaning up dog waste on each and every walk.
RR: What’s one thing all students/teachers should know about you?
S: I like to feed people, so--if you need a snack--come see me in 2003.
RR: What are you most looking forward to this school year?
S: Truly getting to know more about the students, faculty, and staff--and enjoying the school lunches: they’re phenomenal!
